Frequently Asked Questions
What is diamond painting?
Diamond painting is a lot like paint by numbers, but instead of paint, you use tiny sparkling resin diamonds called drills.
Your canvas is covered with symbols, and each symbol matches a specific drill color. You simply place the matching diamonds onto the adhesive canvas, one section at a time, until the full image comes to life.
It’s relaxing, easy to learn, and no artistic experience is required.
What is the difference between Round and Square drills?
Round drills are a little more forgiving and typically faster to place, making them a great choice for beginners or anyone who enjoys a more relaxed diamond painting experience.
Square drills fit closely together edge to edge, creating a fuller, more seamless finished look with less canvas showing between the diamonds.
There’s no wrong choice; it simply comes down to the experience and finished look you prefer. Crown Jewel designs are available in both Round and Square drills.
What are AB and Fairy Dust drills?
AB, or Aurora Borealis, drills have a special iridescent coating that reflects light and adds extra dimension and sparkle to your canvas.
Fairy Dust drills have a softer shimmering finish that catches the light beautifully without overpowering the artwork.
Each Crown Jewel diamond painting includes 2 AB colors and 2 Fairy Dust colors thoughtfully selected to complement the design.
Do I need to buy my own tools?
Your Crown Jewel canvas includes all of the diamonds needed to complete your artwork, including 2 AB drill colors and 2 Fairy Dust drill colors selected to add a little extra sparkle to the design.
